The Gonstead System of Chiropractic is named after it’s founder Dr Clarence Selmer Gonstead who developed and honed his skills over 55 years of clinical practice. When a young man Gonstead was very interested in anything mechanical and was adept at repairing tractors and cars. When at Trade school he was laid low when he developed Acute Rheumatoid Arthritis . Conventional medical doctors were unable to help him so his Aunty took Gonstead to see her Chiropractor. After a series of adjustments Gonstead was able to walk again and he took a job as an Automotive Engingeer to save enough money to pay for Chiropractic School.

Dr David Addie was born and raised in a large family in Invercargill, New Zealand. The most southern city in the world situated at the bottom tip of the south island. He left school at 16 to complete a carpentry apprenticeship. He worked as a carpenter for the next 16 years on projects all over the world. David sustained a severe back injury at work in the late 1990’s and was informed by a specialist that he would never work as a carpenter again. He decided to consult a chiropractor and consequently was back at work in 6 weeks. As a result of this transformation David decided to dedicate his life to helping others achieve their full potential through chiropractic care.
